Today I decided to start my own sewing blog. Sewing was a big part of my life when I was growing up. A lot of my wardrobe in high school consisted of things I made including my prom gowns. Once my son was born (he's now 31 years old) I gave it up due to lack of time and life's ambitions. The last few years my interest in vintage clothing has really grown, but trying to find something that fits my 2008 body (large bust and small hips) has been discouraging (was everyone flat chested back then?). With all the vintage patterns and fabric available I thought I would try making my own vintage inspired clothing. It is also a challenge to myself to try to rediscover the talent I once had. Wish me luck.........

Hi, Side Seams. I love sewing vintage too. Glad you decided to blog. I think you'll love it and meet lots of friends. I can't wait to see your creations.

LOL. I love that people always think I sew to save money. If they saw the size of my stash (just imagine dollar bills stacked up on those shelves instead of fabrics) they'd quickly be disabused of that notion. I like the way your $800 top finally turned out!
